Johnny Swank at NCSU Campus Farmers Market and Scrap Exchange

So lots of cool stuff going in the House of Swank world this week. I'll be doing an acoustic set at the NCSU Campus Farmers Market on Wednesday, March 13 from around 11am - 12pm. I'll be invading Durham Friday night to play at the Scrap Exchange's First Friday event. I'm also going to be debuting a new line of recycled shirts for their ARTFUL ROBOTS! exhibit. Super-pumped about working with both these folks. 

Still have a few ST PADDY's Day shirts left, but they're going quickly. The House of Swank tshirt line has really taken off, and I'm already making plans to expand over the course of the year. You can find my shirts at Epona and Oak and Revolver here in Raleigh, and soon (can't say anything yet!) to some locations in Durham and Chapel Hill. If your shop is interested in carrying my line via wholesale or consignement, I'm all ears. Just gimme a holler. 

I'm always up to set to the House of Swank Shirt Yurt if anyone knows of a venue that needs some proper swag.

Cooke Street Carnival this Saturday

Man, I really, really love hanging and playing at the Cooke Street Carnival. It's going to be this coming Saturday from 1pm-6pm on Cooke Street in Raleigh, NC. I'll be out with a table and playing off and on most of the day, and will be debuting the 919Gear line of shirts and stickers too. Come on out, bring the kids, grab a beer, and have a great time. Floyd Council Memorial Project

You know Pink Floyd, right? Well, one of the namesakes for the band (Floyd Council) was born and raised not 30 miles from Raleigh, NC. He's in a unmarked grave (for now) but my buddy Bullfrog Willard McGhee and company are doing some fine work to raise awareness of this fine musician. Cigar box guitar players you should check out

OK, here's the drill. Drop what you're doing and check each one of these guys out. They've all got different styles but they all blow my damn mind.


Hollowbelly: This cat's from across the pond. I love his stuff. Raw as hell. 


SeaSick Steve: Originally from Mississippi but kicking ass overseas now. I try to rip off as much of his stuff as possible with little success.


Bluesbeaten Redshaw: younger player from the UK. I really dig this kid.


Shane Speal: self-appointed "King of the Cigar Box Guitar", Shane's probably done more than anyone else to promote building and playing cigar box and other homemade contraptions with his website Cigar Box Nation. I need to get up to his family's pub in Pennsylvania and play sometime.


Johnny Lowebow: great one-man band and inventor of the 2-neck LoweBow.


Bill Jagitsch (Bluesboy Jag): winner of the Arkansas River Blues Challenge multiple times and cigar box guitar builder extraordinaire.
